SONO-HDX?

Electrolysis effluent treatment for wastewater management and wastewater treatment. This process is used in soil and groundwater remediation, mine water and construction ground water treatment.

WHAT IS IT?

Sono-HDX uses electrochemistry for metal removal and adjusting the pH of acidic wastewater.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

When an electric current is applied to a magnesium electrode in the system, the magnesium dissolves throughout the wastewater. The contaminants in the water are attracted to the magnesium particles and stick to them. The magnesium also raises the pH level of your water to bring the metals out of solution.

The wastewater is then mixed, causing the now joined metal and contaminant particles to form a mass of solids (flocc). The solids can then be easily separated and removed from the treated water.

A benefit of this method of treatment is that you can individually select certain metal contaminants to be removed. Some contaminants are only soluble within a specific pH range, so by adjusting the electrical current, you can control the amount of magnesium in the wastewater.

WHY IS OUR PROCESS SO EFFICIENT AND EFFECTIVE?

Normally, this process would foul the electrodes in the system which the process relies upon, and they would need to be cleaned or replaced to enable further treatment. This process is called passivation. However, Soneco® is passivation resistant.

See our Soneco® page to see how it can benefit you.
