INNOVATIVE WATER TREATMENT PLANT SENT TO NORWAY

13 November 2020

Power and Water (P&W) are happy to announce that we have sent a trial system to Scandi Energy AS in Norway. Transportable and highly flexible, the treatment plant will be used by Scandi Energy AS across municipal, aquaculture and industrial sites for in-situ test work supported by the P&W Team.

At the heart of the plant is P&W’s patented Soneco® system – a cost-effective, safe and sustainable alternative to liquid chemical dosing.

Crucially, the Soneco® unit includes passivation-free electrodes that are maintained by our cleaning-in-place tool, and the latest switch-mode power supply system. The proven benefits are a significant reduction in power demand and overall maintenance costs.

The system also includes a flocculator, a dissolved air flotation (DAF) unit and lamella separator to allow for the evaluation of different separation processes, and a multipurpose tank.

This innovative system will treat water, preventing pollution and reducing costs, and will also assist Scandi Energy in their production of energy from waste; reducing clients carbon footprint and improving economics.

The flexible design of the unit allows for a range of electrocoagulation processes to be demonstrated and will introduce Soneco’s® advanced oxidation process into new applications.

Now, more than ever, there is a need for greener, more sustainable alternatives to wastewater treatment. The horizon points towards zero waste and carbon negative solutions - it is our hope that, by working together and combining technologies, P&W and Scandi can grow a viable cross-sector ‘circular economy’ to help reverse climate change.
